On a warm summer day, July 19, 2023, something remarkable took place in the heart of Switzerland — a meeting that would reshape the future of Swiss aviation. Three passionate aviators, Leonard Krähenbühl, Silvan Rüegger, and Pascal Gasser, came together to bring a bold idea to life: the Open Airfield Association Switzerland (OAAS).

Driven by their shared love for aviation and a common vision for a more inclusive and connected Swiss airspace, these three pioneers turned their dream into a plan. Their aim was to create a unique platform that would unite Swiss pilots and provide access to all airfields and airports across the country, whether public, private, or military.
